A Winter Quarter Update

We had a wonderful winter quarter at Hands On with collections from Portugal, Italy, Australia, Greece and Japan as well as our American artists and artisans. It’s amazing how well these international artists “speak to each other” with their own iconic work. Of course this is where our pleasure lies, in curating a cohesive collection for our gallery from the significant offerings from around the world. In February we saw many artists, old and new, in New York and ordered our Fall/Winter Collections for next season. The hits just keep on coming!

How We Spent Our Summer Vacation

Our various Summers were spent traveling here and abroad, visiting friends and interesting places and sometimes even enjoying our own tropical island paradise.

We also spent an exciting few weeks in Paris visiting  showrooms and studios as well as attending fashion week shows. We found an intriguing assortment of royal and wearable garments and eclectic accessories so be sure to visit us this year. Some collections are already in and many more are on their way. We can’t wait to show and tell and hear about your summer.

Designed for dreams and visions

Printed art clothing

Andrea creates original artwork using photography, digital drawing and traditional painting techniques. Her work reflects an ongoing interest in color, pattern and texture. “I do everything possible to push to the edge of my design skill to create limited edition fashion. Large abstract paintings and electronic drawings are digitally printed on fabric. My story is about experimentation, change and beauty.”

An Anagram of Chaussette

Atelier St Eustache is a brand of transparent socks, designed in France and made in Italy, inspired by the lightness of architecture. The first collection reflects Tokyo's iconic neighborhoods, the second London's districts and monuments, and the third the beautiful city of New York. for Mieko Mintz

Neeti Banerjee created silk covered endless ropes of pearls so women could enjoy beautiful jewelry that is easy to “wear and go” for all kinds of occasions. In any country. Paris based, Neeti is inspired by timeless, handcrafted jewelry traditions of India and has a passion for handwoven textiles from France, Italy, India and Japan. NibANNi necklaces are handcrafted by young tribal women in eastern India and enjoyed by women around the world.

Every stitch is intentionally placed to create modern, textile-inspired jewelry for those who appreciate the extraordinary. 

We have new Yacco Maricard and Moyuru for casual elegance. Pé de Chumbo, Marian Paquette and Simone Bruns supply the warm colors and luxurious fabrics we need for those cooler holiday nights.

Kay Chapman

Fabric is the canvas that I use to create my one of a kind and limited edition clothing. I love color, texture and line, combining them to create designs that can go from subtle to bold.

Natural fibers such as silk, cotton, linen and wool are used since they take the dye so nicely and feel great on the body. The fabric is stretched onto a frame where dyes and design are applied by hand. The piece is then steamed to set the dye, washed to remove any excess and is then ready to be made into the desired garment. My goal is to create clothing that flatters the body and is timeless.

I strive for a feminine, architectural, modern feel that transcends seasonal trends and has universal appeal.
